Zapier Review: What You Get at Every Price Tier
Zapier is the category's biggest name — the largest app catalog and the simplest on-ramp of any no-code automation tool. Here's what's actually included at each plan, and where the pricing starts to add up.
TL;DR: Zapier connects to more apps than any other mainstream automation tool and is the easiest one in this category to pick up first, but its per-task pricing climbs quickly once you're running real volume — worth the premium mainly if the breadth of integrations is what you actually need.
Quick verdict
- Need to connect apps that other automation tools don't support
- Want the simplest, most polished builder for straightforward, linear workflows
- Value being the most established, best-documented option in the category
- Run high automation volume and cost per task matters more than app breadth
- Need real branching or conditional logic beyond a simple linear step list
- Are comfortable with a more technical tool if it saves meaningfully on cost
What is Zapier?
Zapier connects apps together into automated "Zaps" — one trigger in an app, followed by one or more actions in others — without writing code. It's built around a simple linear model (this happens, then do this, then this) rather than a branching canvas, which is a large part of why it's usually the first automation tool people learn.
Beyond its core workflow-automation product, Zapier has expanded into Zapier Agents (AI-driven, semi-autonomous automations) and Zapier Chatbots, sold as separate product lines with their own plans and pricing on top of the core Zaps platform covered here.
Plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (billed monthly) | Tasks/month | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | 100 | Trying it out, simple two-step Zaps |
| Professional | From $19.99/month | From 750 (scales up to 2M) | Multi-step Zaps, premium apps, webhooks |
| Team | From $69/month | From 750 (scales up to 2M) | 25 users, shared workflows, SAML SSO |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited users, advanced admin, dedicated support |
Figures above are Zapier's standard billed-monthly rates for its core workflow-automation plans, verified directly on Zapier's official pricing page in September 2026. Professional and Team both scale in price with how many tasks per month you pick (from 750 up to 2 million) — the figures shown are each plan's lowest published tier. Zapier also sells separate Agents and Chatbots products with their own plans, not covered in this table. Annual billing is discounted, but exact per-month annual figures weren't consistently broken out in what we could verify, so we're not listing numbers we haven't confirmed first-hand.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Broadest app and integration coverage of any mainstream no-code automation tool
- Easiest tool in the category to learn first — mature docs, huge community, templates
- Free plan is genuinely usable for simple, two-step automations
Cons
- Task-based pricing gets expensive fast once you're running real automation volume
- Each Zap runs one linear path — real branching or looping needs workarounds or a different tool
- Less visual flexibility than Make for anything beyond a straightforward step list
Frequently asked questions
Is Zapier free to use?
Yes — the Free plan includes 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps limited to two steps, plus Zapier Tables and Forms. It's fine for occasional, simple automations, but multi-step Zaps require a paid plan.
What counts as a "task"?
Each action your Zap completes counts as one task against your monthly allowance — not each trigger. A Zap with three actions that runs once uses three tasks, so task usage scales with both how often a Zap runs and how many steps it has.
Does Zapier have an affiliate program?
Not a public one for individual creators at the time of writing. Zapier instead runs a referral benefit through its vetted Zapier Experts Program, which has its own separate application process rather than an open affiliate program anyone can join.
Our take
Zapier's real advantage is breadth — if the apps you need aren't supported anywhere else, that alone can justify paying more per task than you would with Make or n8n. If your stack is smaller, or you're comfortable with a slightly steeper learning curve, the other two tools in this category tend to go further for the money.
